Lil'SAINTS Preschool is a place for children to enjoy learning through play. Every day, the teachers are carefully setting up areas for children to play and learn many interesting things. As the director, I am happy to be with children and teachers who love learning in this Christian, loving, nurturing environment. My background in education began with a BA to teach in grades 7-12. After having my own children, I decided I loved preschool. I returned to school for a MA in Early Childhood Education. My children are Julie and Laurie. Julie is a Kindergarten teacher in Genesee Schools, MI. Laurie and her husband, Nathan work for the Eaton Church of God in Ohio. My granddaughter, Abby, is in the Eaton schools. Jim, my husband, is the Pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Saline.

I have been a member of Saline United Methodist church since 1997. I have been active in children and youth ministry as a Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent, leader in the Wednesday Rock-in-Logos, Jr. High Dinner and Drama, and the Mt. Top Sr. High Mission trip. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Fredonia and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Eastern Michigan University. My husband, Andy and I have three amazing sons, Evan, Colin, and Riley. I was teaching preschool when Evan was born, but truly felt called to stay home and raise my children. I enjoyed every minute I spent as a stay at home mom. I believe my purpose is to teach children, my own and others, about God’s great grace and love for them. I thank God every day for the children who attend Lil’ SAINTS. I pray that through my words and actions they will come to understand how important they are to God, and that he loves each and every one of them, exactly as they were created.

I have lived in Saline and been a member of the First United Methodist Church, along with my husband, Charlie, and adult children, Samuel and Hannah, since 1999. As an active member I have been involved with Sunday School teaching, Jr. High and Sr. High youth retreats, R.O.C.K. in LOGOS, and currently W.I.S.E. Bible Study and the Shawl Ministry. Every Sunday morning you’ll find me working in the Church Nursery, a position I’ve held since 2004. In that same year I joined Lil’ SAINTS Preschool as an assistant teacher. Previously, my family and I lived in Canton, Connecticut where I operated a home daycare for two years, then became licensed and continued Heart's Content Home Daycare for five more years. While in Connecticut, along with other home daycare providers, I helped create a group whose goal was to raise the standard of childcare and provide further education of childcare providers. As a group we completed a course at the local community college on providing quality childcare. In our prior church in Connecticut, I was the Nursery Care Coordinator for five years. I received my Bachelor of Arts in German at Radford University in Virginia. It is my heart’s desire to show God’s love to others, especially children. I am delighted to be doing just that here at Lil’ SAINTS Preschool.
